About the Event

ABOUT THE EVENT

In this event, community leaders present lightening talks about topics relating to the future of healthcare and environmental issues, including how healthcare research hasn't always included all demographics and types of people -- and how this can change with a little help from YOU. Then, a moderator will facilitate a community conversation, where attendees can grab the mic and share their thoughts on discussion questions with community leaders, health professionals, and researchers. All people, of all backgrounds, are welcome to contribute!

The formal conversation starts at 11:30 AM PT, but come at 10:30 AM PT for snacks, tabling with the below partners, the opportunity to participate in the All of Us Research program, and hands-on citizen science activities where you can do more real science. After the conversation ends at 12:30 PM PT, we'll stick around for more informal interaction and fun until 1:30 PM PT!

Join in-person by registering here, on Eventbrite.

ABOUT THE PARTNERS

The All of Us Research Program

We need your help. We are working with the National Institutes of Health and the All of Us Research Program to help speed up health research.

We are looking for volunteers to share their health data with our approved researchers to change the future of health. Members of the All of Us Research California Consortium include the University of California Irvine (UCI), University of California Davis (UCD), University of California San Diego (UCSD), University of San Francisco (UCSF), University of Southern California (USC), Cedars-Sinai, and El Centro Regional Medical Center.

The All of Us Research Program is inviting one million people across the U.S. to help build one of the most diverse health databases in history. They welcome participants from all backgrounds, and researchers will use the data to learn how our biology, lifestyle and environment affect health. This can help researchers find ways to treat and prevent disease. Learn more: https://JoinAllofUs.org/CSM24

SciStarter

SciStarter is the world's biggest citizen science organization, with thousands of projects, events, and tools added for millions of citizen scientists to discover. Citizen science is any way a member of the public can move scientific research forward, often by collecting and analyzing data for research projects. This April, we're trying to galvanize a million acts of science by people all over the world. Learn more: https://CitizenScienceMonth.org.

Pacficia Sharp Park Library

San Mateo County Libraries have been an integral part of its diverse community for over a century. San Mateo County Libraries are incomparable destinations for learning and growth. The Network of the National Library of Medicine All of Us Program Center

The NNLM All of Us Program Center (NAPC) works with public libraries to help communities participate in biomedical research, like the All of Us Research Program, and to support the health information needs of their communities.

We support All of Us to engage those interested in becoming a participant and to provide value for those who are currently participating in the program. https://allofus.nnlm.gov/
